International reserves

The gross official reserves of the Central Bank of Iceland amounted to 931,3 b.kr. at the end of August having increased by 72,5 b.kr. between months.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) allocated special drawing rights (SDR) to its member countries on 23 August 2021, following prior approval by the Fund’s Board of Governors on 2 August. Predetermined short-term net drains on foreign currency assets are estimated 13.2 b.kr. at the end of August compared to 13.2 b.kr. at the end of July.
