Nordic banking structures - report

The central banks of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden have published a report on the structures of Nordic banking markets. The English-language version is the result of a joint effort of all five central banks. The report deals with the role of banking markets in the Nordic countries and the details of each country's banking sector and its profitability, capital adequacy and efficiency. Because cross-border mergers affect the interpretation of banking sector data, the report includes comparisons of the large Nordic banking groups. Also included are an examination of the utilisation of modern banking technology and prospective developmental trends of the Nordic banking sectors, as well as a comprehensive statistical annex.
