Total turnover of domestic payment cards amounted to 110.5 b.kr. in October 2023, where the total turnover of debit cards was 47.6 b.kr. and the turnover of credit cards was 62.9 b.kr.
Domestic turnover of payment cards in Icelandic retail outlets amounted to 85.6 b.kr. in October, an increase by 1.8 b.kr. compared to October 2022. This turnover comprised of 37.8 b.kr. debit card turnover and of 47.7 b.kr. turnover of credit cards respectively. Turnover of domestic payment cards in retail outlets abroad amounted to 22.3 b.kr. in October 2023, a decrease of 1.3 b.kr. compared to same month in 2022.
Total turnover of foreign payment cards in Iceland was 26.2 b.kr. in October 2023, which is an increase of 5.5 b.kr. compared to October 2022.
