The real exchange rate of the Icelandic krona depreciated by 0.6% in January 2019. The real exchange rate index measured by relative consumer prices is 8.3% lower than in the same month last year.
Quarterly index of the real exchange rate measured by relative consumer prices was 90.2 points (yearly average 2005 = 100) in the 4th quarter of 2018, a decrease of 8.1% from the previous quarter.
Quarterly index of the real exchange rate measured by relative labor cost was 101 points (yearly average 2005 = 100) in the 3rd quarter of 2018, a decrease of 2.7% from the previous quarter, (figures for 4th quarter of 2018 will be published next March when relevant data on this will be available).
