Markets

The International and Market Operations Department manages the Central Bank's market activities, in the form of both general oversight and open market operations. The Central Bank oversees the foreign exchange (FX) market, currency swap market and domestic (króna) market. Furthermore, the Bank monitors the bond market without direct oversight of it. The Central Bank may trade in the FX market and swap market, but has largely refrained from operations in them.
